Heal from the Inside Out with Brainspotting

One of the powerful methods we use at our center is Brainspotting, a cutting-edge therapy that goes beyond traditional talk therapy to access the deeper parts of your brain where trauma and anxiety are stored.

Do you feel anxious in certain situations?  Do you find yourself triggered by your partner or your kids? Are you feeling overwhelmed or stressed at work?  Or have you been through traumatic experiences that still affect you today?

Brainspotting can often bring relief.

What Is Brainspotting?

Brainspotting is a gentle yet powerful therapeutic approach that uses the connection between your eyes and brain to help process and release emotional and physical pain. Developed by Dr. David Grand, Brainspotting is based on the idea that where you look affects how you feel. By identifying and holding attention on certain eye positions—called “brainspots”—we can help the brain process trauma and stored emotions that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, or PTSD.

How Does It Help with Anxiety and Trauma?

Trauma and anxiety often live in the subconscious, far below the level of words and logic. Brainspotting works by bypassing the analytical part of the brain and accessing the deeper, more instinctive layers where emotional distress gets trapped.

If you think about something that stresses you out- you’ll often notice that your body can have certain sensations and that emotions can arise.  Even if you know rationally that this stress isn’t as big of a deal as it feels in this moment, it’s hard to talk your body and nervous system out of feeling that way.

Here’s how Brainspotting can help:

  • Releases stored trauma without the need to relive painful memories in detail

  • Reduces physical symptoms of anxiety like tightness, restlessness, or chronic tension

  • Promotes emotional regulation, calmness, and clarity

  • Unblocks stuck emotions and thought patterns that keep you from moving forward

Many people report that Brainspotting helps them feel relief more quickly and deeply than other methods they've tried.

What to Expect in a Session

Brainspotting sessions are client-led and intuitive. You don’t need to have the “perfect” words or even know exactly what’s wrong. Through a calm and supportive process, your therapist will help you tune into your body and discover the eye position that corresponds with where your brain is holding distress. Then, as you focus gently on that spot, your brain begins to do the work of healing and processing.

It’s powerful. And it can truly change the way you feel—about your past, your anxiety, and yourself.

Brainspotting can not only heal trauma and negative emotions, it can also help you access and strengthen positive states-helping you improve your performance and tap into positive, joyful, powerful and hopeful feelings on a gut level .
